& Dahlia
Society Show

The
Stone
Chrysanthemum
and Dahlia
Society held
it's annual Show
on September
18th at The
Walton Community
Centre.
As
well as their
Trophies, all
the Trophies and
awards received
by the Stone in
Bloom Group were
on
display.
SIB
Chairman of
Stone in Bloom
Antony Lucas
made a short
speech at the
end of
proceedings
about the Gold
and other Awards
presented to the
group on
September 16th, making
particular
mention of the
major and
invaluable
contribution to
the Towns'
success being
due to the work
done by Street
Scene.

battled it out to win

weekend local 15
year old Whitebridge
resident Rebecca
Dell pulled on the England
colours for the
first time! Rebecca
was part of a coxed
eight all from
nearby Trentham Boat
Club who were asked
to represent there
country at The Home
International
Regatta in
Cork
Ireland.

Whit
Marches, Friday 28th
May 2010 (Tameside)
On
Friday 28th May 2010
Stone Town Band,
took part in the
annual Whit Marches
competition in
Tameside, Greater
Manchester. This was
the first time that
the band has
competed in any form
of competition in
around 15 years.
Whit marches is a
prestigious event in
the brass band
calendar that takes
place in the
Tameside and
Saddleworth regions
attracting bands
from all over Great
Britain and the
world (This event
being highlighted in
the film Brassed Off
(1996).
