Stone
Food and Drink Festival
3rd,
4th & 5th October 2008
One
of the main attractions of
this beautiful town is its
Food and Drink Festival held
annually during the first
weekend of October.
Various
events are held throughout
the week starting with the
hugely popular Manger à
Trois. The town’s
restaurateurs play host to
diners offering a choice of
fine food, with each course
in a different restaurant.
Fourteen
pubs in and around Stone
will take part in the unique
Afford Real Ale Trail.
It’s an ideal opportunity
to travel in style by mini
bus visiting eight of the
outlying pubs and a chance
to sample some of the best
Staffordshire real ales on
offer.
Stone
now claims to have the best Farmers’
Market in Staffordshire,
attracting thousands of
visitors. During the Food
and Drink Festival there
will be a Farmers’ Market
held on all three days with
over forty stalls selling
local produce.
Buy
anything from a wicker
basket to a water buffalo
burger!
For
a great value day out for
the whole family, visit The
Gourmet
Food Marquee on Westbridge
Park. For a small charge,
spend the day shopping,
listening to live music and
enjoy browsing the stands
where many of the traders
will be offering free
tastings and samples of fine
food and drink.
For
the passionate “Foodie”
a full programme of free
demonstrations
and talks will take place
offering the chance to learn
how to cook some unusual
dishes and match beer, wine
or cider to your meals with
tutored tasting classes.
For
the children, this year,
there’s a chance to learn
all about a wide range of
exciting new ingredients
plus fun activities in the Childrens
Pavillion.
For the very small children
there will be rides to keep
them occupied.
