Circus coming to Stone!

July 15th - 19th

The Netherlands National Circus will be performing at Westbridge Park between July 15th - 19th.  

The Box Office will be open at Westbridge Park from July 14th, between 10am - 8pm daily.

Do you fancy a choice of over sixty real ales from breweries in Norfolk and Derbyshire?  These are real ales at their best and will be available at the Swan Inn from Saturday July 4th to Sunday July 12th.

The Swan is an established favourite with real ale drinkers from far and wide and visitors from miles around will be making their annual pilgrimage to the Swan's 11th Festival.

The Festival begins on July 4th with Karl's Bavarian Brass Umpah Band playing in the beer garden and continues until the following Sunday - so long as there is ale left in the barrels!

Last year's Festival was an amazing success and this year will be even better.  Getting underway on Friday evening, there will be a wide choice of venues and music to choose from.

Classical, choral, jazz, brass band, acoustic, rock and much more - there's something for everyone.

Stone Literary Festival

September 17th - 19th

Lovers of the English language can look forward to Stone's 2009 Literary Festival - now expanded to a three-day event.

The programme will include talks and workshops with local authors and a soap script writer both in the town centre and in local schools.

Come and browse the stalls of two dozen second-hand and antiquarian book dealers in a marquee on Stone Market Square.

The Actors XI will consist of stars from programmes such as Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Shameless & Royle Family etc.

Stone Food & Drink Festival

October 2nd - 4th

Stone Food and Drink Festival 09 is going from strength to strength.

The working group has already begun to organise this year's festival with the enthusiasm and drive shown by it's volunteers since the first festival four years ago, reports administrator Jill Hood.

"The most exciting news for us this year is that Stone Food and Drink Festival is to be one of the events promoted by 'Destination Staffordshire', giving us a higher profile in regional tourist offices".

"This enables us to promote ourselves at events such as the 300th anniversary of Dr Johnson's birth at Lichfield, putting Stone firmly on the map as Staffordshire's premier Food and Drink Festival".
